Riposte1 reviewed the Heinie Leather ProductsD.O.J. Holster

Overall Rating: 8.9
Pros: Conceals a large frame auto as well as many holster conceal pocket pistols
Cons: Hard to get.
Heinie/Alessi DOJ
Having Carried a number of handguns in a number of holsters for nearly 40 years this is my most often carried holster for the last 10 years.

I still try others but I keep coming back.

It was with great sorrow that I heard that Lou Alessi passed away on 21 Feb. He was a fine gentleman and made fine holsters for serious people.

I do hope Dick Heinie will find someone who can carry on the design under his banner - it is too good to lose.

Chuck rated the Milt Sparks Holsters, Inc. Versa Max 2

Overall Rating: 9.1
Comment: I have many holsters of different kinds. The Versa Max II is the most comfortable holster and will built I have found. I can actually wear the holster all day and be comfortable. My two sons bought a Versa Max 2 also and love it.

Pros: Good retention. Fits the gun great. No thumb break.
Cons: none that I have experienced or can think of yet.
Fobus ankle holster for the Glock 27
I like this holster better than some of the other ankle holsters I have used. It is comfortable, and holds the gun great. I currently have worn it several full days (8-10 hours at a time) without any comfort issues, or it printing through my pants leg. I have been wearing the Woolrich elite discrete carry pants with them, and they cover and conceal decently.

Comment: It is a good quality holster with a lot of adjustment options, but I find it very uncomfortable.

Pros: good retention
Cons: bulky, extremely uncomfortable.
A brick in your pants
This holster is horrible... The good reviews that it has must have been done by the manufacturer. This hoster is like having a brick in your pants.

Tifosi rated the Milt Sparks Holsters, Inc. Versa Max 2

Comment: I've had this one for over 6 months and wear it everyday. Its almost too comfortable, takes a short period to breakin, like it enough that I have second one on order for my P220 Carry. They both are horsehide.

Fsquared reviewed the DeSantis Holster & Leather Goods Co. Tuck-This!

Overall Rating: 7.2
Pros: Very concealable: even with a shirt tucked, you really cannot see the weapon.
Cons: Needs another anchor point (clip) for the front of the holster.
Good idea, needs improvements
I purchased this rig about 18 months ago for warmer weather carry and actually find myself wearing it all year round.

My only knock on this holster is that it should have two anchor points for your belt. I realize that this is supposed to be a tuck-able rig (and it is). But, I have never tucked my shirt in with this holster because I'm of the school of thought that your sidearm should be accessible.

Overall Rating: 9.9
Pros: Weapon postioning, retention and craftsmanship
Cons: The Sparks wait ( but worth it when you receive a great product)
OWB concealed carry
This holster was purchased as a secondary to my VM2 IWB holster. This holster like the VM2 is a quality product made with superior materials and excellent craftsmanship. My weapon fits in the holster nicely with excellent retentionship, draws smoothly. Shape is maintained and blind reholstering is done with out a problem. In cool weather when outer clothing is a must I don this holster for quicker weapon access. The weapon is canted forward and rides nicely along your belt line. Sitting does not show any weapon reveal. An excellent CCW holster and competition holster.

coachrobert reviewed the Milt Sparks Holsters, Inc.Versa Max 2

Overall Rating: 9.4
Pros: Craftsmanship, tuckable capabilities, shape retention, concealability of weapon
Cons: The Sparks wait time 3 months, (but worth it for a great product)
Great IWB Holster
Awesome craftsmanship, I use this holster for my everday carry. I use it with the kydex clips so that I can tuck in my shirt, and my weapon is virtually invisable. The weapon sits low along the belt line so drawing and holstering takes practice. The holster retains it's shape and does not collapse. A quaility product I enjoy wearing everyday and using in IDPA comps. A true CCW holster!!!!

petrolero reviewed the Comp-TacC-T.A.C

Overall Rating: 9.6
Pros: Retention, versatility, tuckability, stealthy, comfortable, cheaper than leather
Cons: My holster collection stopped growing when I got this rig. :-)
Great CCW holster w/ Springfield XD 40 4"
I don't have a large collection of holsters (only 3 to date) specifically because I found the CTAC relatively early in the process.

I paid US $73 for this rig + 13 bucks for the C-clips. For some reason when I submitted this review it said price 9.99 even though I entered $73. ??

I am right-handed and I have worn this rig small-of-the-back and at the 2, 3 and 4 o'clock positions all with equal comfort.

This rig is very comfortable. I wear it all day with no discomfort. I always tuck an undershirt behind this rig, as I would with any IWB holster, and have another outer shirt over that - either tucked or not.

I chose the C-clip belt clips ($13 extra) and am happy with them. I even use a rather flimsy dress belt and it works fine as long as the belt is kept tight This would be true with any of the clip methods offered. By comparison, OWB holsters flop around like crazy with this same belt.

I also like that the belt clips are not mounted on top of the holster but rather are off to the sides connected by small pieces of leather to the main body. This makes the holster as thin as possible while also allowing the clips to conform to the curve of my waist.

Some people complain about kydex hurting a gun's finish, but I have seen none from this rig; and I have a "pre-melonite" XD. I actually got more muzzle-end wear from the nylon holster that I use when storing my XD.

Fit is perfect on me and on the gun. FYI... I actually tried an XD 45 ACP in it and it fit & released perfectly too. The weapon essentially "clicks" into place so I know it's in. And it stays there and does not rattle around. Draw is smooth as silk and there is no binding. Reholstering is quick and positive because of the vertical "tang" that keeps your undershirt out of the way and also guides the muzzle back into the holster.
